Record a loan or cash advance

Record SSS, Pag-IBIG and company loans or cash advances so the amortization is deducted from each payroll run.

Updated October 18, 2026

Panatag deducts loan amortizations automatically in each payroll run until the loan is paid off. You record government loans, company loans and cash advances on the Loans page.

Who can do this: Owner, Admin, HR, Accountant. Plan: Loans and cash advances are included on every plan.

Record a government or company loan

  1. In the sidebar, click Loans, then New loan.
  2. Pick the Employee.
  3. Choose the Loan type: SSS salary loan, SSS calamity loan, SSS emergency loan, Pag-IBIG multi-purpose loan, Pag-IBIG housing loan or Company loan.
  4. Enter the Reference no., Principal (₱), Total payable (₱) and Amortization per cutoff (₱).
  5. Choose the Deduction schedule: Every cutoff, First half or Second half.
  6. Set the Start date and add Notes (optional).
  7. Click Create loan.

The loan amortization is deducted automatically in each payroll run until the balance is zero.

Cash advances are recorded the same way: choose the Loan type Company loan.

Adjust, pause or write off a loan

On a loan you can:

  • Adjust balance: a positive amount is a payment made outside payroll; a negative amount increases the balance. A note is required.
  • Pause / Resume the loan.
  • Write off the loan. A write-off is permanent.

The loan ledger is append-only: adjustments are added as new entries rather than changing past ones.
