Offboard an employee
Separate an employee with the offboarding checklist, then pay their final pay through a Final pay run.
Updated October 2, 2026
When an employee leaves, you record their separation with the offboarding checklist on their profile, then pay them through a final pay run.
Who can do this: Owner, Admin, HR
Start offboarding an employee
- Open the employee’s profile and go to the Employment & pay tab.
- On the Offboarding card, click Start offboarding.
- Enter the Last day of work (required) and a Reason.
- Click Start offboarding.
Complete the offboarding checklist
Work through the offboarding checklist: assets returned, access revoked, exit interview, clearance, Certificate of Employment issued, and final pay run created.
When everything is done, click Complete offboarding. This marks the employee as separated and revokes their chat access. Separated employees drop off the Employees list; click Show previous employees to find them again.
To undo offboarding before it’s completed, click Cancel offboarding.
Pay an employee’s final pay
Final pay is a payroll run. Start offboarding first so the employee’s last day is set, then:
- Go to Payroll and click New payroll run.
- Choose the Run type Final pay.
- Pick the employee.
The final pay review shows prorated basic, prorated 13th month, leave conversion and year-end tax adjustment.
Archiving, deleting and rehiring employees
There is no archive or delete button for employees, and no rehire button. To rehire someone, add them again as a new employee from Employees → Add employee.
